Help

Getting Started
1. Connect a wallet or bank account
Go to Connections and paste any Base (0x...) or Solana wallet address, or connect a business bank account via Plaid. Set the lookback window for wallets and click Scan. Shepherd reads USDC transfer events directly from the blockchain (and transaction data from your bank) and never overwrites past history — every rescan or sync merges new activity into your permanent record.
2. Classify transactions
In the Ledger, step through unclassified transactions and assign each to a GL code. Shepherd's AI suggests a classification with a confidence score for every transaction — accept it with one click or classify manually. When you classify one counterparty, all future transactions from that address auto-classify.
3. Review financial statements
As you classify, the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement build in real time from on-chain data. When all transactions are classified, you get a fully reconciled close — export to CSV, push to QuickBooks, or review the full audit trail.
Transactions & Bulk Actions
Filter and browse all transactions
The Transactions page shows every transaction across all connected wallets. Filter by direction, chain, status, counterparty, amount, or wallet to find exactly what you're looking for.
Bulk classify
Filter down to a group of similar transactions, select them with the checkboxes, pick a GL code, and classify all of them in a single action.
Automations
AI auto-classification
Set a confidence threshold (80–99%) and run auto-classification to instantly classify every transaction where Shepherd's AI is confident enough — no manual review needed for the ones that clear the bar.
Classification rules
Create standing rules based on direction, chain, counterparty, or amount range — e.g. "all outflows over $1,000 → Payroll." Rules apply automatically to new transactions as they come in.
Email & Slack notifications
Connect email (via Gmail SMTP) and Slack (via webhook) to get daily updates on classification activity — how many transactions were processed and how many still need review.
Reports & Export
Asset Roll Forward & Trial Balance
The Reports page includes an Asset Roll Forward (opening balance → additions → dispositions → closing balance) and a Trial Balance (every account with debits, credits, and a balance check), both filterable by wallet and chain.
Export options
Export any classified data as CSV or Excel at any time from the Ledger's export menu, or from a fully reconciled close.
QuickBooks Online integration
Connect QuickBooks Online from the Connections page. Once connected, push classified journal entries directly into QBO — Shepherd automatically creates matching GL accounts if they don't already exist.
Other
Audit log
Every classification, scan, rule, and export is logged. Filter by type and export the full log as CSV for compliance or review.
Supported chains & tokens
Base, Ethereum, Polygon, and Solana mainnet. Each chain scans for all its supported major stablecoins automatically (USDC everywhere; USDT, DAI, USDP, PYUSD, and EURC where they exist on that chain) — no per-token setup needed. Additional L2s are on the roadmap.
Fiat bank connections
Connect a business bank account from Connections or during onboarding via Plaid. Bank transactions flow through the same classification, rules, and reporting as crypto — but post to a separate "Bank - Checking" balance sheet line, since fiat and stablecoin balances are different assets. Filter to bank-only activity using "Bank" in any Chain filter.
